SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

Who We Are

Shinglekit is a digital platform that helps local trade businesses — plumbers, auto shops, contractors, and similar service providers — manage their online presence and customer follow-up. Messages sent through Shinglekit are sent on behalf of these businesses to their own customers.

What Messages You May Receive

If you have recently received service from a local business that uses the Shinglekit platform, you may receive a single SMS message after your visit containing a link to leave a Google review for that business. This is a one-time, post-service message. You will not be enrolled in any ongoing messaging program.

How Your Consent Is Collected

Shinglekit uses a two-step consent process before any message is sent to you:

  1. Point-of-service notice. The business you visited displays a physical notice at their location — informing you that you may receive a one-time follow-up text requesting a Google review. This notice includes opt-out instructions.
  2. Voice-confirmed trigger. When the business owner or staff member requests that a review message be sent to you, they do so by calling Shinglekit's automated voice system. Before any message is dispatched, the system asks the staff member to verbally confirm that you were informed of the follow-up text. No message is sent unless that confirmation is given. The confirmation is recorded and timestamped in Shinglekit's system as a consent record tied specifically to your message.

Consent Documentation and Record Keeping

Shinglekit documents and retains records of all SMS consent events. Each consent record includes:

  • the date, time, and inbound caller ID of the authorizing business owner;
  • a full transcript of the voice agent confirmation exchange;
  • the recipient's phone number as captured during the call;
  • delivery confirmation of the pre-SMS notification message sent to the recipient; and
  • delivery confirmation of the review request SMS.

All consent records are stored securely and retained for a minimum of four years in accordance with TCPA requirements. Records are available for audit upon lawful request.

Message Frequency

One message per service visit. You will not receive recurring messages.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt-In Confirmation

Prior to receiving a review request link, recipients receive a confirmation SMS notifying them that a review link will follow and providing opt-out instructions. Recipients may reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages.

How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any message you receive and you will never be contacted again through the Shinglekit platform. Your number will be permanently flagged in our system.

Your Data
